My new favorite book!

This book was incredible! It was horrific but amazing. I can't believe what humans can do to each other. I am so impressed with this ladies faith and her ability to forgive!

We have had all sorts of stuff going on. Matt is busy applying to Grad school (North Carolina, Texas, New York and Indiana). It will be exciting to see what happens!

Ruby finally lost her first tooth (after 3 months of torture for me). She told me that she didn't believe in the tooth fairy because I'd told her that fairies weren't real. I asked if she wanted her to still come so she agreed to believe.

Cooper doesn't like to say prayers. He gets a stamp on his prayer chart if he does pray and he can't watch tv if he doesn't. So today he asks me if he can say a prayer and I say sure. In his prayer he says, "Heavenly Father please bless my mom will let me watch tv!" His prayer was answered.

What happens in vegas.....

I just got back from a girls trip to Vegas. I went with 5 of my best friends. I feel so blessed to have the friends that I do. We laughed so stinkin hard. All we did was shop, laugh, and eat (love the Cheesecake Factory). I even discovered a hidden talent, dancing! Matt is a super hero for doing such a great job with the kids. We had a blast, but it is good to be back.

I Spy Quilts

After hundreds of hour of hard work, I finally finished the kids I spy quilts. This was an enrichment activity. I made 35 of the same quilt block, along with 35 other people. We had a quilt block exchange, so each person ended up with 35 different blocks. They took forever to make, but my kids love them. Both quilts are totally different and fit the interests of each kid. My favorite part is a special block on the back side, there is a message embroidered, "I love you, Love Mom". The block is at the top so when I tuck them in each night they can see it and remember who loves them.

Timpanogoos Cave

We hiked as a family up to Timpanagoos Cave. Ruby hiked the whole way in flip flops. The cave was amazing and freezing. The kids thought it was pretty freaky.

Cooper loves to sleep in a pillowcase! This was one of those little pieces of heaven that you get to enjoy as a mom.

R.O.U.S.

Last Monday, Matt realized our screen to our brand new basement window was shredded and couldn't figure out why. As we were staring at the bottom of the 4 foot window well something moved. We couldn't figure out what it was, we thought it was a cat or a racoon. When it moved we realized it was a ROUS (princess bride) a rodent of unusual size! Animal control came and took it back up to the mountains (Our tax dollars at work!). It was over 18 inches. Disgusting!!!! I was not a rat fan before this, I am even less of one now! Let's just say I screamed a lot that day. Now I am paranoid every time something moves suddenly.

Confrence Cinnamon Rolls

We have a great tradition of making cinnamon rolls for General Confrence. Cooper is quite a chef. I am glad he didn't pop from all the dough he ate. I loved listening to confrence. My favorite talk was Sister Beck's talk on being a mom that "knows". I feel so blessed and humbled to be a mom in todays world.

Limo Lunch

Ruby sold so much wrapping paper for the school fundraiser that she won a limo ride to Crown Burger. She was so stinkin cute!

First Day of School

We were so excited for the first day of school. Ruby started kindergarten and Cooper started pre-school at the same school. I got a little teary when I watched my 5 year old get onto a bus and drive away. While she was at school I called all the other moms and planned a welcome home party for when they got off the bus. I brought the wagon and we filled it with treats. We had a sign to hold for when they got off the bus. I totally felt like mother of the year. Ruby got off the bus and colapsed on the grass. My welcome wagon turned into an ambulance. I got her home and she totally puked!

We went to Lagoon on Labor Day. I don't know who had more fun, the kids or the grownups. I have to confess, the Tidal Wave is not for me any more.
