Frog Jump, Raspberries for Coop, and a little venting

Poor Coop, he has had his cast on for 3 weeks now. We go to the Scott's pool almost everyday and Coop just hangs out and watches us or plays on my iPod. I let him in the kiddy pool with a bag on his hand and of course he fell in and soaked it. Luckily it dried ok. 7 more days!!!! Man that thing STINKS! I hope he isn't growing mushrooms down it!

We attended the annual Frog Jump in Dublin, Ohio. They had these huge frogs that the kids could race. Most of the frogs just sat there so you could hit the grass behind them, blow on them, pat them on the behind or whatever would make them move. So much fun!

Ohio is covered with different farms, mostly corn. We found this little gem of a farm where you could pick your own raspberries! There were millions of them! No wonder they are so dang expensive in the store, it takes forever to pick them! After about a half hour of picking, Cooper called me over to see how he had picked LOTS of berries. I think it was the sequal to Blueberries for Sal minus the bears! You can see how many he had picked. I told the farmer to weigh my kids before and after and he could charge me for what was eaten. They were oh so yummy. We put them on our favorite 4th of July cake (a week early).

OK now I have to vent. Do you ever have a day where you don't LOVE being a mom? I was so mad at my darling offsprings that I sent them to bed at 7:30 before FHE! I washed Cooper's mouth out with soap, did lots of time outs, counted to 10, etc! I know I love them, but today I sure didn't like them. I think I am experiencing the recipe for disaster: raging pregnant lady hormones + heat + support hose + homesick + 2.5 month "camp out" + no school = CRAZY LADY! I might also add that I don't even want to know what my next bra size is, I am probably going to have to order some udder aperatus from the local seed and feed! One of the few stores in this teeny tiny little town.

I look in at my lovily children and think, how could I have been so mad at these sweet faces and then I remember that they are refueling for tommorrow!

Out of the mouths of babes

Today we were listening to some fine Ohio radio and Def Leopard came on.
Mom: Guess what? The drummer of this band only has one arm!
Coop: Like me? (Remember that he is in a cast for 2 more weeks, whose counting, ME!)
Mom: Yes, like you.
Coop: Does he have any legs?

After laughing like a crazy lady, I cut a motor cycle cop off but just got a "Friendly Warning"!

Scott's Familly Day

We are loving Scott's! They are treating us awesome. We went to Scott's Family Day at Sports Ohio yesterday and it was all FREE! Go Carts, Put Put (mini golf for you westerners), face painting, batting cages, balloons, bouncy toys, lunch, cotton candy, ice cream, you name it! It was so fun telling my kids yes to everything instead of the normal NO!!!

We also did a whole bunch of firsts: I had my first tick, we caught our first lightening bugs, Ruby and Cooper caught their first fish, Ruby hit her first soft ball, we saw Rocky move for the first time!

New Most Embarassing Moment

I stopped by the local Village Pantry (a gas station) with a Burger King inside during lunchtime. All of the sudden, I tripped on something. So I look down only to realize it was MY SKIRT!!!!! Just imagine a big fat pregnant lady wearing support hose and funny underwear standing in the middle of the gas station parking lot with her skirt at her ankles! Those lucky construction workers "had it their way" at the BK today! We now call it the Village Panty!

Reptiles and Orthopeds

We found this cute little guy in the pond behind our house. Cooper wanted to name him Bob and Ruby and I wanted to name him Turds so here is Bob Turds (sorry dad!)
Cooper fell of a swing at our friends house and hyper-extened most of his fingers. Poor kid, his fingers looked like little Vienna Sausages. Our insurance only covers us in Indiana, soooo we drove back (a 4 hour drive).

Turns out that he broke 3 of the 5. He was so excited to get a cast. That lasted about 2 days. NO: swimming, bike riding, scooter, skateboard, etc for a month! I don't know who this will be harder on.

I am 23 weeks now and look like a baby beluga. Who knew you could get pregnant in your arms! I am blessed to have a face covered in leopard spots (pregnancy mask) and lovely support hose for my road map legs that are starting to look like tree trunks. We have been blessed with terrible rainy weather, thank Heavens because I am not looking forward to an Ohio summer! Rocky better be a dang good kid. Here is to motherhood and the ability to forget how much fun pregnancy is between babies! Cheers!
