11 days

Rocky has been home a week now. What a blessing he has been in our lives already. He is soooo good. I totally forgot how much I love newborns.

It is such a sacred experience hanging out with him. I love to sing I am a child of God to him, he totally knows that right now, he was just there with his Heavenly Father!!!

I feel so much better this time than the other 2 times. I am recovering so much faster. I think it helped that I was able to excercise almost every day of my pregnancy. My veins are so much better now that I am not pregnant. Now I just need to loose 25 more pounds and get rid of this tummy.

My attitude is so much better this time. I know that he is going to grow up and tell me he hates me. I know that nursing can only hurt for so long. I am not wishing for the next phase, I am just trying to cherish every minute because he will grow up. I am not trying to do everything by the book, I am just loving him and doing my best. I know it all works out. The umbilical stump has always grossed me out, but this time it just reminds me of what a miracle this all is.

Ruby is totally in love with him, she is such a great helper. I hope Cooper learns to love him too. Cooper is very jealous at this point and I can't blame him. He has been my baby for 5.5 years. It has been nice having the older kids in school full day so I can have time to recover and enjoy Rocky.

Rocky had to do photo-therapy because he was Jaundice. He was such a trooper. All of his plumbing works like a charm and luckily so does our washing machine.

We have the greatest friends and family. We feel so blessed to have sooooo much support. Thanks to everyone who has helped out!!!

My friend sent me a swaddling blanket that she swears by. I figured it just wouldn't work on Rocky because he would get out of it. Another friend taught me how to use it and he has slept through the night 2 times in a row!!!! Check out www.adenadnanais.com Seriously it is MAGICAL!! I think you can even get them at Target.

Rockwell Peterson Rich

Well, here he is! The moment I have been waiting for, for a very long time!!! Rockwell Peterson Rich aka ROCKY (Rock lobster, Rockstar, Rockmaninoff, Rock Dawg) was born Friday October 2, 2009 at 7:31 am in Bloomington, Indiana. He was 8 lbs 3 oz and 20 inches long. Rocky has some serious cheeks and black hair. He is such a great baby, very mellow and cuddly. I am totally in love with him. I am always amazed how the bond between a mother and her baby can be so instant and so deep.

The c-section was fabulous, I LOVE my doctor. They gave me some anesthesia that makes you uber itchy! The same thing happened with Cooper. I tried not to use my fingernail because I didn't want to have scratch marks all over. So I used a wet washcloth instead (I was very hot and nauseated so they put it on my head). Well low and behold I scrubbed most of my skin off my FACE! I am feeling sooooo much better now. I have a very sore tummy but, other than that I am in HEAVEN! Looks like Rocky is getting ready for a little snack.

These last few days....

Everything I do now I tell myself ...this is the last time I will sit through Sacrament Meeting for the last time, or this is my last Saturday being pregnant. I am so ready to be done with my support hose, my squished bladder, my constant hot flashes and my huge body.

BUT..... it makes me sad that I won't be feeling all the pokes and prods from my internal buddy. It is humbling to think where Rocky is and what he knows. He knows who he is and that Heavenly Father loves him. I hope he will always know that. I can't wait to see him and snuggle up for the next few months.

I am terrified to start over, I hope I can remember all the things I used to know. I hope I can still show my big kids all the love they need and make Rocky feel welcome. Yikes I am scared!

I feel so thankful for all my great friends and for all the love and support I feel away from my family at this time. I am totally feeling the love!

It is crazy to think my next post should be the one! I am on for 10/2 at 7:00 am! 5 days away!!!! Lets do it ROCKY!!!

Apple Dapple!

I always post pictures backwards! This is actually the end of the apple post, but aren't they cooooool!!!! Cooper thought he was pretty darn tricky when we made these.

What do I have in common with fall apples? We are both ready to be harvested! Matt loves getting shots from different angles. Sure glad you can see my toes over that belly!

We went with a bunch of Kelley Kids families to the Anderson Orchard. I had no idea there were that many kinds of apples! We even did some drive by apple picking. The kids thought it was so fun to pluck apples off the trees as they hung out the windows of the car, SAFETY FIRST! The best part (after getting the pregnant lady off the very bumpy dirt road) was the apple cider slushees, DEEE LISCHOUS!
We also picked 4 lbs of raspberries, OK probably 5, but they didn't check any of us on the scales for our before and after weights.

Cooper LOVES soccer! He is on the Germany team with a bunch of his buddies from church. He asks me every day, how many more sleeps until soccer?

Baby update: Went to another doctor in the practice and she told me I was 1cm and not effaced! I asked if the vault was sealing shut and she said the last doctor has smaller hands. What the heck?!* I will have lots of contractions one day and not so many the next. My guess is I will go until October 2 when I have my scheduled c-section.

Progress!

I went to the doctor today and she said I am 2 cm and 50% effaced! I have had lots of contractions today but nothing consistent. Sure wonder if it will be today or in 3 weeks (probably 3 weeks, just to make me crazy)! I will be 36 weeks tomorrow so it would be good to get in one more week. I will keep y'all posted.
