Plymouth Rock

On the way home from the Cape, we headed to Plymouth Rock. I don't know what I was expecting but that was all it was, A ROCK!
This is Plymouth ROCKY. He loved running over all bridges and through the tunnels. I think he thinks that he is a train.
It was amazing to learn about this quaint little spot where so much happened so long ago. It floors me to think this was going on 200+ years before the Mormon Pioneers even made it to Utah. There was a statue honoring the women on the Mayflower. They sacrificed so much for their belief in God. Women of faith inspire me!

Cape Cod

Ruby's BFF's family invited us to join them in Cape Cod last weekend. They have a beautiful home in Eastham. We had so much fun exploring the Cape. We went to 2 different beaches one on the bay side and the other on the ocean side. I LOVED the bay side one, Herringbrook. The tide was low and the beach was almost empty. The water was very shallow and bathwater temperature!!! We found all sorts of treasures: a seagull skull, a momma spider crab with her baby, crabs (one pinched me when I rudely stepped on him), and lots of other cool shells. Our seaweed fight was one of my favorite parts, it was very therapeutic hucking slimy globs at my family. My other favorite part was Rocky falling asleep in my arms as we sat in the waves. Heaven!




The ocean side was freezing, crowded, and had big scary waves. We loved it. Matt was totally in his element. I was terrified and proud of my kids as I watched them learn to boogie board out in the deep ocean. Cooper got pummeled by a few waves as they crashed into shore, but he got right up and tried again.



We drove all the way to the tip or the Cape to Provincetown. That was one crazy little spot. We ate yummy food, saw an awesome pirate ship, and had LOTS of people watching opportunities! Grr...I don't know why that is underlined!!!

Mass Dash

We went to cheer on our favorite runner in the Mass Dash. Matt ran his 2nd relay race last weekend as part of the Lego team Block Heads. He ran so fast it was a blur! Way to go Daddy!

Dog days of summer.

Our friends let us play with their puppy, MOOSE! My kids begged. pleaded, and begged some more for me to let them buy Moose. Sorry, no sale! He was pretty darn cute though. Rocky was so gentle with Moose, I was very impressed.

4th of July, Beach, and Trains

Massachusetts is a great place to be to celebrate Independence day! Each town celebrates on different days so it has been a week long party. We went to the East Longmeadow parade which was almost 3 hours long!!! The best part were the Shriners that drove their go carts up and over a Suburban! Awesome! Rocky was NOT a fan of the loud sirens and exploding fireworks. We watched multiple firework shows and made all sorts of festive 4th of July food. Ruby decorated the cake this year, I was pretty impressed! We loved the layered drinks.







For our third beach excursion this month, we tried Massquamicut beach in RI. The kids loved boogie boarding. I loved hanging out with the Dermody family!

We drove through 4 states to meet up with some friends from Indiana, the Daughtertys and the Cherrys. We had a great time eating, reminiscing and eating! On our way there we stopped at the Danburry Rail Road Museum. ALL of my boys LOVE trains. They get it from Papa Rich. We saw some of the most amazing trains, even I thought it was cool.

Watch Hill Beach, Rhode Island

We tried a new beach, Watch Hill Beach in Rhode Island. It is only 1 1/2 hours away from our house. Rhode Island was absolutely beautiful. I love all the Hydrangea bushes, they were everywhere. Parking was a nightmare! Matt dropped us off and about 2 hours later he showed up. He had to park 3 1/2 miles away and walk all the way down the beach to find us! The coolest find: a dead sting ray washed up on the shore.
