Waiting for Irene

No gas...
No bread...
No flashlights...
No water...
We are patiently waiting for Irene to come visit. Hurricane Irene that is. The map shows the current storm and the red dot is where we live. At this point, it is headed right at us as a category 1 hurricane. The projected time is tomorrow at 2pm. We keep getting rain on and off as the outer arms of the hurricane rotate over us. So much can happen in the next 24 hours, but needless to say we will be getting a lot of rain! We have no clue what to expect. We have food, water, fuel, batteries, flashlights and lots of home made bread. I hope we are ready.

It is such a weird feeling seeing shelves empty and no gas at the gas station. There is definitely a feeling of impending doom.

Not going to lie to you, I am scared to death. I am not a fan of seeing a giant storm coming right at my little town (along with the rest of the East coast).

Please keep us in your prayers. Bet you can't wait for the next post, can ya?!

No wonder we are tired!

We have been living it up all week long!!!

I even had potty training thoughts this week. I bought big boy pants for the Rockstar, only to realize they are way to TIGHT!!! You know your underwear is too tight when it doesn't fit on your head!

Basketball Hall of Fame:



We checked out the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, MA. Tickets are normally super pricey, so we went on the FREE DAY (along with the rest of Western Mass!). Ruby LOVES basketball, she really enjoyed hooping it up! I loved the old fashioned "onsies" the players used to wear. I am hoping they wore shorts over them!
Have you ever wanted to eat one of your babies? Confession: I have to hold back every day!!!

Can you make your hair do that?

3 of us moms and all of our girls did a gals trip to New York. It was so fun hanging out with my favorite girl. It was also nice not to have to worry about strollers, naps and diaper bags! We had so much fun. I am very thankful for fabulous girlfriends!!!

Chapel Falls:



A friend of ours took us to these beautiful waterfalls that work as waterslides. It was breathtaking! My dudes also tried rock climbing. They were awesome!!!

Man I am a lucky mom. I sure love my 3 little chickens!!!

Matt's Birthday:

Our sweet friends made Matt this awesome Lego cake for his birthday.



We scored 2 giant rolls of paper. The kids had hours of fun making banners for daddy's birthday. Ruby got frustrated with Rocky for spilling water on the banner, so she decided to paint his face for him!

We also had an earthquake and are wondering if we will get hit by the hurricane this weekend! No wonder we are worn out, we had a busy week!!!

New England Fun

I love all the boats we get to see!

I also love all the wild turkeys we see as we drive around. The other day we saw a momma and 7 chicks. By the looks of these skinny looking birds, the Pilgrims didn't get much meat on the first Thanksgiving.

I am learning to live with wildlife. We have some cricket sharing our house. Man are the noisy!!!

Crane Beach

A few moms from my church loaded up all of our kids and headed to Crane Beach. I am really having a hard time deciding which beach is my favorite. I know...WAH! We have been to the beach 7 times since we have been here, I LOVE it!!! Crane was beautiful. It was a very relaxing beach.
Rocky is trying to learn how to NOT throw sand. Unfortunately he pegged his namesake right in the forehead!


I am so thankful for these dear women who have pulled me under their wings and made me feel very welcome. I LOVE my girls!!!

Southwick Zoo

Visitors :)

We were so very blessed to have 2 dear friends come to play from SLC. I have known Jen since junior high school. We have a ton in common and have been through a lot together. Her daughter, Katya, is just a couple months younger than Ruby. We have done play dates with our girls since they were teeny tiny. Jen is one of those dear friends you can just pick up where you left off with. I cherish all the great memories we have made together.

They were only here for a few days, but we sure packed in the fun! Our first adventure was to Misquamicut State Beach in Rhode Island. There were some very aggressive seagulls at the beach. One swooped down from behind me and tried to steal my food right out of my hand. He hit me in the head and scared me to death!!!




I tried Boogie Boarding for the first time. I love this sequence of pictures! Lets just say after I got slammed into the ocean floor, I had CUPS of sand in my swim suit!


Our next adventure was to BOSTON! What a crazy city...I loved it!



This street performer almost gave me a heart attack. She was amazing!!
We loved Boston Common and the Public Garden. I love the story Make Way For Ducklings, this garden is the setting. It was fun to find the duck sculpture and ride on the Swan Boats. We also had some delightful frozen lemonade.

I think my very favorite part of the weekend was the walk Jen and I took at 10pm in the rain...by ourselves. I am so thankful to have such great friends!!! Can't wait until they come to see us again!
