And the winner is....

Ruby Rich!!!!

About 2 months ago, Ruby received a letter in the mail congratulating her for winning some sort of award in the Utah State Fair writing competition. I was shocked because I never knew she had entered. You would have thought she had just won a trip to the moon she was so excited. She was invited to attend an awards ceremony to find out what she had won. I was so excited for her but kept my expectations for the ceremony very low.

The ceremony was a HUGE deal. We found out that Ruby had entered 2 competitions. She won a blue ribbon (1st place) in one competition and a white ribbon (3rd) in another. She also won 3 door prizes. She said,"Every time I try to stop smiling, they call me up AGAIN!" Way to go Scoobs! We are so proud of you!

I love to see the temple...

Matt's brother James got married on November, 12. We are so happy for James and Amy, we adore her. She is a perfect fit in our family! These are a few shots that were taken on the temple grounds.

When Cooper was about 4, he was balancing on the edge of the reflecting pond in front of the temple. He was sporting his red Power Ranger suit. Next thing I know, he was in the pond. I crack up every time I see that pond. What a great memory!

Trick or Treat Graphing

OK, I am just a little behind here! Life has been crazy and I have been trying to get another blog book made. I had a 20% off coupon which is very rare and I just finished my book tonight. Get ready for lots of posts! Well anywho...

We have a tradition of graphing our Halloween candy. I think my kids like the graphing even more than collecting the candy. Lucky for me, Kit Kats and peanut M&M's were the winners this year. I love how it is almost a month later and they still haven't asked where the loot is stashed.

I HEART Shutterfly

Can you believe it is almost time for new calendars? My sister in law has made several of these from our yearly family reunion. We love to look at all the fun pictures and think of the great memories. I love how you can put pictures of the special birthday person right on their special day!
My dad was given one of these darling photo mugs. He displays it with pride.

One of my favorite parts of Christmas is seeing all the cute Christmas cards from friends and family.
I just saw this awesome deal on my friends blog so I decided to look into it. Shutterfly has a deal where if you write about their products on your blog they will send you 50 free Christmas cards. You already know that I am all over that! Out of all the photo companies, Shutterfly is one of my favorites. I have done a couple photobooks with them that I have absolutely loved. I love that you don't have to download any software to make a book.

They often have amazing promotion codes for free or greatly reduced prices. In fact I am waiting for one of my free books in the mail as we speak!

I am also very impressed by how easy it is to create the cards, it is very user friendly. You can even have them mail them out for you! How easy is that? Easy peasy mac and cheesy!

Currently there is a 20% off deal on some of the cards, photobooks are up to 30% off, and free shipping of orders over $30

Now just image how cute these will be with your pictures!

This is Halloween....

You know you live in Utah when one day it's warm, and the next day you are sledding!

Did you ever wonder why they put straps on highchairs?
Does this answer your question?
Ruby and I have done a bunch of fun sewing projects together. Cooper decided that he wanted to do a project with me. I asked him to draw what he wanted to make.
This is what we came up with. He was so dang proud of his creation.
The Riches love to party!

Confession: I LOVE gutting a pumpkin! There is something therapeutic about slime oozing through my fingers!

Trick or Treating was a wee bit soggy, it was POURING rain when we started, by the end of the night it was perfect.

Rocktober

I am so thankful I can't eat in my sleep, I would weigh 800 lbs!
Mmmm...pasketti!
Someone LOVES to unroll the TP. We have a huge mountain on top of the toilet that I refuse to throw away.
I was wondering why it got so quiet, someone hit, or should I say, dumped the jackpot.

Apache field trip

We are loving the fact that we are surrounded by our amazing families! We went on a field trip to see the Apache helicopters that my BIL flies. Holy smokes they sure have a lot of buttons. It was fascinating learning all about them. Thanks Toosh and Eric!!!!

Other news...
I just got called to be the 2nd counselor in the Young Womens group for my church. I told Coop and he said, "you are NOT young!" I am so excited to work with these darling girls and the amazing leaders.

We got dental insurance from Matt's job on October 1. Luckily I haven't had any dental problems for the past few years because we didn't have dental insurance. October 8, I had a raging tooth ache. I just knew it would go away, but it didn't. It got worse! When the dentist checked things out he said my gums have receded so badly that there was an 8mm space where all my bone and nerves are completely exposed. Ouchie wa wa!!! There is nothing like tooth pain! I am so thankful for Advil! Lets hope this heals up or I am going to be hanging with the dentist a lot more than I planned.
